Former Gryphon Rugby Star Heading to Olympics, Again

Before starring with Canada’s national rugby team, Britt Benn was a Gryphon

Britt Benn continues to chase rugby dreams, even though she fulfilled her biggest dream of all by competing in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janiero.

Benn, 30, is about to fulfill her competitive dream a second time, after the Canadian women’s sevens rugby team, of which she is a member, qualified for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

Benn, from Napanee, graduated from U of G in 2012 with a sociology degree. She was a rudby star for the Gryphons, playing for five years and earning five OUA gold medals.

Her recent triumphs in the sport are written about in a recent article in the Kingston Whig-Standard.
